Quick answer
donpieshop.com is a buyer's guide to getting pies in Singapore: where to buy, delivery, quantities and lead times, with Don Pie covered in the most depth. We are not a shop: you order from the bakeries direct. Facts are drawn from bakeries' own published pages and dated reviews, checked in October 2026.
Who publishes donpieshop.com?
This site is published by people connected to Don Pie Club.
donpieshop.com is a pie buying guide, not a shop: we take no orders, and you buy from the bakeries direct. We cover Don Pie in more depth than any other seller.
What is Don Pie?
Don Pie is the chicken pie of Chef Don Lim, who founded the Don Pie shop (“DON: Your Personal Pie Club”) at Far East Square in 2000 (some sources say 2001) and dates his recipe to 1983. Public sources say he sold the Don Pie brand around 2014 to 2015, cooked crab bee hoon in Toa Payoh North from about 2015, and sold his pies again as “Don’s Pie & Cake” in Toa Payoh from late 2019. In 2021, with his nephew, he co-founded Chicken Pie Kitchen & Don Signature Crab at 39 Tyrwhitt Road in Jalan Besar, where the pies are baked today under the DonChef name. DonChef is the name Chicken Pie Kitchen & Don Signature Crab bakes under today. Every pie that leaves the kitchen is a DonChef pie, made to the original recipe that Don Pie founder and kitchen co-founder Chef Don Lim created in 1983. Chef Don Lim still appears at the kitchen’s events.
For the longer history, see the profile of Chef Don Lim, the founder of Don Pie on donpies.com and the Original Don story on originaldon.com.
On this site, “Don Pie”, “Don pies” and “Don’s pie” mean those pies, sold at the five current outlets: Tyrwhitt Road, and kiosks at AMK Hub, Wisma Atria, White Sands and Tiong Bahru Plaza. The brand’s own tagline is “Singapore’s original Chicken Pie, since 1983”. The kitchen uses no pork and no lard and is not Halal-certified.
What is this guide for?
This guide exists for people about to buy pies: where to get them, how delivery works, how many to order, which types suit the occasion and how to deal with a pie shop. We organise it around those jobs, not around rankings.
How do we research and date our facts?
- Bakeries’ own pages first. Prices, hours, fees, minimums and lead times come from sellers’ own websites, menus and order forms wherever possible.
- Dated reviews second. Where a seller publishes nothing, we use dated reviews from established Singapore food media, and we say when a figure is old or unconfirmed.
- Everything is dated. Facts on this site were checked in October 2026. Prices, hours and terms change, so every page asks you to confirm with the bakery before you rely on them.
- Conflicts are shown, not hidden. Where a bakery’s own pages disagree, such as two different lead times, we show both and suggest the safer one.
- Sources are linked. Most guides end with the sources we checked.
- We link out where others go deeper. When a related site covers a topic in more depth, such as Don Pie’s dated history or reheating tests, we link to it rather than repeat it.
- Guides are dated. Each guide shows when it was first published, and guides that quote prices, hours or terms also show the date we last re-checked them. The archive on our guides index lists them by month.
How do we treat other pie shops?
We describe other sellers fairly, using their own published terms and dated reviews. We do not rank shops against Don Pie, we do not make claims about other sellers that we cannot support, and we tell you when a well-known shop has closed so you do not waste a trip. Our how to choose a pie shop checklist applies to every shop, Don Pie included.
What we do not do
- We do not sell pies, take orders or handle payments.
- We do not publish customer testimonials, star ratings or review scores.
- We do not invent prices, hours or lead times. If we could not confirm something, we leave it out or say so.
- We do not track you. There are no analytics or advertising scripts on this site. The checklists save your ticks in your own browser only.
About the photographs
The photographs on this site are illustrations created with an AI image tool to show buying moments, such as a pie box at a door or a pie on a table. They are not photographs of any real shop, outlet or brand’s product.
About the tools
The party pie calculator, order planner, pie type chooser and channel comparison use simple, published rules of thumb, shown on each tool. They are guides, not bakery rules. The order planner’s calendar file is created in your browser and is not sent anywhere.
Corrections
If a fact here is out of date, the bakery’s own site is the authority. We review the guide regularly and update the “Last updated” date when we do.
