Quick answer

Pick up when timing matters or the order is below the free-delivery threshold: you pay only the menu price and control when pies leave the shop. Choose the bakery's own delivery for large orders above the threshold (often $150 to $200). Use GrabFood or foodpanda for one or two pies now. Walk in for a few pies today.

There are four ways to get pies in Singapore, and each one is best at something. Our guide to where to buy pies in Singapore covers the shops; this page covers how the pies reach you. The right choice depends on three questions: how many pies, how fixed is the time, and how far are you from the shop?

When is pickup the better choice?

Pre-ordering and collecting is the best choice when the serving time is fixed. You decide when the pies leave the shop, you see them before you pay or leave, and there is no delivery window that might slip. It also costs less below the free-delivery threshold, because there is no fee.

Pickup works best when:

  • the shop is within about 20 to 30 minutes of you or on your way;
  • the order fits in a car or two bags;
  • you can carry boxes flat; and
  • you can collect about 60 to 90 minutes before serving.

When is delivery the better choice?

Delivery from the bakery’s own site is the better choice for big orders, for gifts sent to someone else, and for offices where nobody can leave. Above the free-delivery threshold, often $150 to $200 in Singapore, the fee disappears and delivery costs nothing extra.

The trade-off is control. Several bakeries use third-party drivers on a best-effort basis and say they cannot guarantee an exact time. Book a slot that ends well before you serve. Fees, thresholds and slots are explained in pie delivery in Singapore.

When should you use a delivery app?

Delivery apps (GrabFood and foodpanda) are for small, immediate orders: one or two pies to your desk or home. Apps charge delivery and platform fees on each order, may price items differently from the counter, and usually carry a shorter menu. For a party, they are rarely the cheapest or most reliable route. Deliveroo is no longer an option, having closed in Singapore in March 2026.

When is walking in enough?

Walking in works for a handful of pies on the day. Kiosks and bakeries sell what was baked that day, so popular flavours and whole pies may run out, especially late in the day. A phone call before you set off solves most of that.

The decision, in one table

Your situation Best route
1 to 5 pies, today Walk in, or an app
Under about 20 pies, fixed time, shop nearby Pre-order and collect
Over the free-delivery threshold Bakery’s own delivery
Gift to another address Bakery’s own delivery
Office, nobody can leave Bakery delivery, or an app for small orders
Event in under 3 hours Call a kiosk, then collect

Tips for a smooth pickup

  1. Choose the right outlet when ordering, since you may not be able to switch later.
  2. Bring a flat-bottomed bag or a box for the car.
  3. Check the order at the counter: count and open one box.
  4. Drive straight to the event; do not leave pies in a parked car.

Questions buyers ask

Is it cheaper to collect pies than to have them delivered?

Usually, yes. Collecting removes the delivery fee, and some sellers give a small discount for self-collection, such as 5% at The Shepherd's Pie. Above a seller's free-delivery threshold, delivery costs the same and saves you the trip.

Can I collect from a different outlet from the one I ordered at?

Often not. Don Pie's ordering FAQ, for example, says you collect from the outlet you ordered at. Choose carefully when you place the order.
